Genealogy of Murder by Lisa Belkin
In 1960 ex-con Joseph DeSalvo killed beat cop David Troy during a holdup. At the time, DeSalvo was out on parole that had been recommended by a Dr. Alvin Tarlov. This true crime author traces several generations of the Troy, Tarlov, and DeSalvo families, trying to determine whether any of these men may have ended up in less deadly circumstances had their ancestors taken different paths.
