The first in a series of webinars focused on Native voices and experiences, this program features an in-depth panel discussion with exclusively Native people speaking their voices and sharing their stories, will feature honored guests Ms. Rachel Fernandez, Executive Director of Maeqtekuahkihkiw Metaemohsak Inc., Woodland Women and Ms. Kaila Johnston, Supervisor of Education, Outreach, and Public Programming office of the Canadian National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR). In collaboration with the College of DuPage Native American Studies Committee and partnering Illinois public libraries.

Ms. Rachel Fernandez, an advocate and speaker for the MMIWG2S Coalition to Stop Violence against Native Women movement, has worked with victims of domestic and sexual violence, counseled and advocated for victims of residential school abuse and trauma and has provided advocacy and support services to the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin for over a decade.

Ms. Kaila Johnston oversees matters related to the support of educators, development of resources, establishment of outreach initiatives, as well as public engagement on residential schools and their legacy. She has much experience delivering presentations like this throughout Canada and is directly in contact supporting and assisting survivors of Canada's Indigenous Residential Schools.
