Program Description
Description
New Philadelphia, Illinois was the first town founded by an African American and ex-slave, Frank McWorter in 1836. It was an integrated community that became a key stop on the Underground Railroad. The pre-recorded presentation from the Civil War Museum combines history, archaelogy and genealogy to bring Frank's story to life. Once registered, you will receive an email with instructions to view the event.
